I’m Sarah Wheeler.

Writer, Performer, Spoken Word Poet, and Creator of Little Golden Blackout Poems™,

originally from the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina.

Witness of the natural world, lover words, and student of what it means to be human.

*A note on the practice of erasure/blackout/‘found’ poetry –

Years ago, I went looking for an antidote and discovered medicine in the form of blackout poetry ;

the practice of mining a text in pursuit an answer to an unnamed question.

This process is a concentrated effort to excavate a buried thought; to make the unconscious, conscious. Each ‘found’ poem is a revelation. A glimmer. A guide.

Proof that poetry is everywhere.

The answer, always, within.
